Vermeil is a French term for a special variety of gilded silver.
The minimum characteristics required to produce this material are:
- Purity of deposit: 10 karat gold
- Deposit thickness: 2.5 microns
- Purity of deposit: 23 carat gold
- Deposit thickness: 3.0 microns

The colour of this material is exclusively yellow .
There is the possibility of performing a further coloring: white, pink, black; but these are platings that after a short time fade revealing the underlying gold layer and we do not recommend them precisely to keep the bracelet as new for a long time!
The chemical affinity between silver and gold gives the plating good resistance qualities. The processing is obtained by electrolysis but requires procedures that few know how to perform .
Vermeil is a sought-after , exclusive and luxury material, being the material with which royal and princely families made their ornaments and coronation services.
Vermeil is more expensive than silver and is used to make high quality objects. Its value is higher than silver because the gold deposit is considerable , to this is added the value of the workmanship which is particularly complex and niche .
